With an aim to cater to the emerging needs of teacher education in West Bengal, Purba Medinipur B.Ed College, the premier teachers' training institute of the region, took up the academic responsibility of establishing a Teachers' Training College in 2009. The college has adopted teacher-education as a mission to enlighten in-service and prospective teachers with new ideas, so as to illuminate the minds of the thousands of school students who constitute the future of our nation.

The college aims to provide an environment that encourages professional excellence, growth in the exercise of responsible freedom and respect for the human personality, and that inculcates values and attitudes which make for social awareness and responsibility. It seeks to develop in its students the ability to think logically, critically and creatively, to build problem-solving skills and to communicate effectively.
